“This product is for beginner level video editors creating simple projects. If you hire a veteran film editor working on big projects, Camtasia will be too limited for them. However, it's an amazing value for training new people to edit videos and it's perfect for small teams that can't afford a full time videographer. I was able to get up and running quickly and train two other guys to use it basically in an afternoon!” — Camtasia review by Phil A.

Clicking the big plus button on web or in the iOS app will open a slide-based editor. No complicated timelines here with Spark video's intro maker! We suggest storyboarding out your video story within the app by selecting one of the preloaded story structures or creating your own by adding notes to slides, which will guide your creation. Each slide should represent just one point or thought.
“Invest some time in a beginners course and get curious with the software. It offers A LOT. If you are a beginner, it can be intimidating but once you get a firm understanding of the basics, you will adapt quickly and see the benefits right away. There are a lot of really cool plugins that you can download or purchase to integrate into Premiere like cool transition packs. The dynamic link between the other Creative Suite programs also offers you opportunities to be even more creative and more efficient in your workflow. After Effects, Photoshop and Audition are my 3 go to programs besides Premiere and they all sync together beautifully. In my opinion, there is absolutely no reason to use any other type of editing software.” — Adobe Premiere Pro review by Linda R.

In a world which is dominated by Windows and macOS, Linux users are often neglected when it comes to creative software such as video editors. While, it is true that most of the mainstream professional grade video-editing software doesn’t offer a Linux counterpart, there are some really good options available for Linux users. We already covered one such option in our YouTube subsection which is Shotcut. Here are some more options that you can look at:
Increasingly, new capabilities trickle down from professional-level software to the consumer category. That's a good thing for nonprofessional movie editors, since the more-consumer-oriented software makes formerly difficult procedures a cinch for them. Read on for a survey of the latest trends in video editing software and our top picks in the field.

I make videos and brochures for a living, and one of the tolos I frequently use is Windows Movie Maker. There are two things I like about this software: first and foremost, is really easy to use: you can find all of the features easily on the user panel and add them with only one click, which is a pretty cool feature. The other thing I like is that adding music, credits, black and white effects, and many more additions to make your video creation more beautiful is also a piece of cake.

“This is a great tool for photo and video editing. It's free of cost and easy to setup and use. Files can be exported easily. I recently created one short video song using this tool. It has all the features needed. I loved the filters and editing options. As I am new to video editing, this software is highly recommended for beginners according to my experience.” — HitFilm Express review by Prachi P.

“I love how straightforward and simple the video editing process is! I appreciate that the app does all of the work of choosing filters, transitions and photo order for me. I also like that it will give me music selections based on the editing style so I don’t have to sift through a bunch of unfamiliar song titles to find one that fits.” — Magisto review by Nicole H.
I don't like that it's hard to customize the title the way you want it, especially if you want to add multiple lines of texts. I have to use photoshop to make my title page instead, but it would be so much faster if I could make it in the program. I also don't like that there isn't music already loaded in, you have to go online to find your own music. I would like a small list of pre-loaded songs.
So, if you use this type of software on a daily basis, or just need something converted as quickly as possible, this is the program you want. It also has a full array of customization and enhancement tools. Not only can you trim away unwanted footage, but also adjust picture values like brightness, contrast and hue. You can also add effects, watermarks and a whole host of fun filters. Additionally, you can use this program to create a DVD, complete with menus, of your converted videos.

Other programs have jumped on board with 360 VR support, including Adobe Premiere, Apple Final Cut Pro X, and Magix Movie Edit Pro. Support varies, with some apps including 360-compatible titles, stabilization, and motion tracking. PowerDirector is notable for including those last two. Final Cut offers a useful tool that removes the camera and tripod from the image, often an issue with 360-degree footage.

In the production industry, when most people think about editing software, their minds don't go to Windows Movie Maker on a PC. I'm not an expert on how to achieve that, but I gather a revamped look (which seems more like a professional editing suite) that retains the intuitive, user-friendly feel would be a start. The issue may not be with Movie Maker, but more so a computer's ability to handle the rich files (raw video) and storage required to edit.
I've tried every thing I could think of to get this to work. I have tried it on 2 dedicated computers, each over 2ghz, plenty of high speed disk, and this never works twice in a row. The strangest thing is it seems to get worse with use on one system. Then I switch it to the other system, and it works for a day or so. I've reset power on everything, re-seated all cables, swapped in cables, etc. etc.
